Two-page autograph letter dated October 17th, 1903, addressed “Dear Mr. Matz” (B. W. Matz) and signed “F.G. Kitton.”  The letter discusses affairs of the Dickens Fellowship.  Kitton writes, apparently in response to a request by Matz, that because of the pressure of work he would prefer not to give a paper on Dickens at the next meeting of the Fellowship.  However, he goes on to say that he could, if Matz insists, present a short paper on “CD’s Literary Beginnings,” giving an account of Sketches by Boz, followed by a reading of Dickens’s first sketch.
