One page autograph letter signed “Dudley Costello.”  The letter concerns Costello’s request for a copy of Voltaire and is dated Thursday, June 23.  In his Bibliography, Eckel devotes a chapter to “Presentation Copies.”  He cites a presentation copy of Bleak House, which had been given by Dickens to Dudley Costello.  Costello was a long-time associate of Dickens, and a cast member in several of the private theatricals produced by him.
