One page autograph letter dated August 25th, 1914, addressed “Dear Mr. Matz” (B. W. Matz) and signed “Very sincerely yours, Kate Perugini.”  The letter reads “Only in town for a few hours. So very sorry cannot receive your friends – or I should say our friends, - to whom many kind messages.  Some day, I hope, when this terrible war is over I may be happy enough to make their acquaintance.”  The identities of the friends of Matz, to whom Perugini refers, are a matter of speculation.
