One page autograph letter dated June 25th, 1862(?) from the Reform Club, Pall Mall.  The letter is addressed “Gentlemen,” and is signed “Blanchard Jerrold.”  In this letter, Jerrold writes that he has just completed “a little Christmas book,” and is forwarding it for comment.  Jerrold was an acquaintance of Dickens, on the staff of “The Daily News,” and the author of various works on food and travel.  It may have been Judge Patterson’s intention to include this letter adjacent to page 201, where Eckel in his Bibliography lists contributions to “The Daily News” under the chapter headed “Contributions to Newspapers, etc.”
